I have found it to be a pretty much 50/50 nature/nurture. Some recent evidence suggests perhaps a 65% nature/35% nurture. Though, whatever is the etiology of OCD, if you are suffering from it, does it really matter?
Acceptance will ultimately be the term that one is after. How one comes to this can be beautiful in its pursuit. And this is not to say that one does not attempt, and succeed, in diminishing their symptoms if one puts in the work. But in accepting what is at the moment, interestingly lessons the symptoms.
